We loved this 1970’s authentic reproduction of a Tudor country house. We assumed the house was very old as such a brilliant job was done in its planning an construction, but the owner told us she and her husband had an architect build it on land behind her childhood home (now gone). She lit a peat fire and candles for us in the comfy ‘great room’ when we arrived in the driving rain. We all enjoyed her friendly yet not intrusive visit with us. Breakfast was fantastic. It was a charming stop between Mayo and Dublin. A treat all the way around! Stayed June 2011, travelled as a couple.
