We (four of us) had to make a last minute dash to Co Longford for a couple of nights. After reading some good reviews about the Longford Country House, we phoned & managed to book 3 rooms for our two night stay. The house is tucked well away from the hustle & bustle of town, perfect for a relaxing few nights & the worlds friendliest pub (The Old Forge) is a mere €7 away in a taxi. We were greeted with a very welcoming pot of tea on arrival & shown to our en suite rooms which were spacious & beautifully decorated. The showers were proper showers, good & strong & plenty of hot water. I cant remember the last time I didn’t finish off my breakfast but Patsys portions had me bursting at the seams, two of everything, a never ending flow of tea & coffee, a full Irish! Fantastic house ran by very nice people, Peter & Patsy. Thank you for your hospitality at such short notice & we’ll defiantly be back for longer next time, maybe to make use of one of the cottages :). 10/10 from me.
